Wheelbarrow Handles

Determining how to attach the wheelbarrow handles.

Laying out the pieces with my newly procured wheelbarrow handles was a bit tricky because while they had the rounded handles like I wanted, the dimensions weren’t exactly square as the other strips were. I had to determine how I would attach them to make everything else match up. I laid them out on the floor of the cart and made sure they were the proper length and I made excess lay to the inside of the cart. That threw my measurements off by half an inch on both sides. I was, however, able to compensate.

Side members assembled.

The assembled side structures laying on the floor of the cart.

Here, you can see that the wheelbarrow handles have been transformed into hot dog cart handles as they have been attached to the side rails. These side pieces are just laid on floor of the cart and remained there until they were bolted to the floor.

Side structures bolted in place and supports are being cut.

As you can see in this shot, the side rails have been bolted to the floor and the cart is beginning to take shape. You can now clearly see that the handles are in their proper place and you can see the obvious overhang of material is pointed toward the inside of the cart. With the side structures in place, supports were cut and bolted to the floor to keep the side pieces from bowing either in or out. Now its on to the next step.🌭
